Washington, D.C. (September 22, 2025) — Little Lobbyists, a family-led organization that advocates for children with complex medical needs and disabilities across America, issues the following statement attributable to co-founder and Executive Director Elena Hung in response to the Department of Health and Humans Services' unfounded and unscientific announcement that acetaminophen use in pregnancy is linked to autism:
Little Lobbyists condemns the misinformation and pseudoscience that characterizes this current administration, including promoting the categorically-debunked claim that using acetaminophen in pregnancy causes autism. We reject the notion that autistic kids need to be cured. We celebrate and affirm neurodiversity, autistic joy, and the right to access all services needed to live in our communities. We also support autistic-led research into projects that will improve autistic lives, celebrate autistic culture, and result in meaningful support for autistics and their loved ones.
